National Nutrition Month with Vita Coco Kids

March is National Nutrition Month and it is all about learning the importance of making informed food choices to develop better and healthier habits. Developing healthier habits can sometimes be a struggle with kids.  Believe me we have sat at the dinner table with tears streaming like I was torturing my children for giving them vegetables. So I decided to take a look at what I could tackle and swap first.

I began with swapping out generic, sugar packed juice boxes for the all-natural Vita Coco Kids.  Of course I had already taste tested Vita Coco Kids and loved them, they are the only way I can consume coconut water.  However I couldn’t dare admit that to the kids, otherwise they would instantly dislike and refuse them.  They have to allow the Vita Coco Coconut water with natural flavors blow their mind first, and then they will want to share the experience with mom and dad.

Clearly we have been out of Vita Coco Kids for a bit, hence their excitement.

Vita Coco Kids is perfect for any school lunch and all afternoon snacks.  I feel like they make up for whatever unapproved snacks my kids may have swapped from friends in school, just being realistic.  Of course they are also perfect for road trips, sporting events, and everywhere you can think of.

My family and I enjoy regular coconut water so we will definitely check out the Vita Coco Kids products. I try to stay clear of boxed juices unless they are 100% juice. The sugar content is crazy overall so this is definitely something I will be searching for the next time I am out shopping.

I’ve seen these in our store recently and wondered if they were any good! They make adult versions too, right? I think I’ve seen them at least. Will have to check it out!

I hate the thoughts of coconut water, but I might would actually try these. Maybe I’ll get some and see if Lil Man and I could drink them. I am a runner, and a lot of my friends use coconut water as a recovery drink. I need to check these out.

I think it is really great that these juice drinks are made for kids using coconut water. As long as they taste good, I don’t see why the kids would care what is in this or that it is healthier. Once they have decided they like them I think they will ask for them. *big thumbs up*

Those sound great for road trips, and I appreciate the fact that they have less sugar than other fruit pouches. I love Capri Sun juice boxes when I feel like indulging in a juice box, so it’s nice to know there are healthier alternatives (in similar flavors) available. Thanks for sharing!

My little guy used to each veggies and fruit like there was nothing better. Then he caught on to our unhealthy eating habits and now he eats less veggies and fruit. I think the first suggestion I’d offer is to eat what you want your children to eat, hence “practice what you preach”.

This looks like a yummy, really yummy snack and perfect for school lunch. Currently my daughter takes juice to school that’s only 8% sugar. I love coconut water but it may have to grow on the kids.

Yes, we do have healthy eating habits. We always have vegetables and fruits on the dining table, and we also have supplements. Vita Coco is great I think not only for kids. I have tried it and also liked the flavor. Coconut water is so delicious and healthy!
