Tips for Planning a Family Getaway in the Pocono Mountains

A few weeks ago I co-hosted the Bronx Moms Nights Out (#BXMNO) with Nicole of Bronx Mama presented by the Pocono Mountains. We offered a variety of services, food, and including massages, tarot readings, manicures, beauty consultations and more. After dividing myself between event planning, work, and being mom, a getaway is definitely in our very near future.
As a New Yorker, the hustle and bustle of it all on top of my crazy schedule gets overwhelming. Luckily the Pocono mountains is close enough for a getaway to unwind, unplug and reconnect with my family. With many options for families it is the perfect location to whisk my family from the stress of everyday life for an unforgettable family getaway.

Tips to Planning a Family Getaway in the Pocono Mountains

Create a list of all the activities your children and family enjoy and would consider exploring. The Pocono Mountains has many activities, including water parks, white water rafting, festivals, rock climbing, fishing and so much more.  It will help you to know what you and your children are interested in participating in before you begin to plan.

Now that you know what activities you would like to discover in The Pocono Mountains lets pick a date! I am well aware how difficult it is to manage schedules and coordinate a vacation when activities are non stop. However in the Summer, activities tend to slow down, so plan ahead and mark your families calendar.

Where to to go in The Pocono Mountains? We have visited several Pocono Mountain Resorts, and I will say Woodloch is our ultimate favorite.  Woodloch is about bringing people together, and having a ton of fun doing it. They offer a unique activity program, abundant amenities, outstanding nightly entertainment, championship golf course and one of the world’s best destination spas.  Each time we visit, my family and I are engaged, entertained and energized and have created lasting memories. It is the ideal destination for unplugging and reconnecting with my family.  Just be warned there will be crying involved, when you say it is time to go.
Woodloch not for you? No worries, The Pocono Mountains has plenty of world-class Poconos resorts, each with its own flair for relaxation and genuine hospitality. So go ahead and plan dinner with your family and start a conversation about activities, and pick a date. Then visit and plan your getaway, all just a quick two and a half hour drive away.

Be sure to pack a camera, and leave your devices at home!
