As I sit at my desk steadfast typing away sipping on my third cup of caffeine, I watch as the sun creeps in the front window and in the very faint distance of my memory I recall a moment when deciding to head to the beach for the day required little more than a blanket, sunscreen, and head phones to tune out those around me . Once I tossed kids into the mix, a day on the sand became a lot more adventurous, and required a bit more planning! Before you throw in the towel take note it is possible, in a moments notice check out a few things that will make your experience worth repeating as we have all Summer long!
I rush to wake the little ones, and shout out BEACH DAY, and before long teeth are brushed, bathing suits are on and we are out the door in thirty minutes and ready for some Fun in the Sun! Amazing Right? Let me explain…
This mom is known for forgetting something or another so I was thrilled to partner with Trunki the kid size water-resistant whimsical animal theme backpack that keeps any wetness from getting in or leaking out. My kids have proven that their Trunki paddle paks have become the perfect partner for both little and big adventures and they have kept their paks filled with their essentials all Summer long. I enjoy the kids using the Trunki Paddlepaks because it has given both my 8 and 4 year old the opportunity to take responsibility for themselves, something we are lacking, as I know most parents can relate. Earlier in the summer together we made a list of their must have summer items:
- sunglasses
- hair brush/detangler/gel
- sunblock
- Ringo toss game
- Havaiana flip flops
- baseball hats
- reusable water bottles
- change of clothes
- Lunch/snack imagine how pricey these can get daily
The kids now gather their belongings, pack, repack, and occasionaly add something depending on our destination, the beach, a water-park, etc. Naturally I check their bags before we leave because I do try to avoid melt down at all costs.
During the summer months we withdraw from electronics, because you just cant be very creative with sand and tablets, well not yet anyway. Therefore without electronics in tow you know relaxation can easily turn into stress and frustration which meant we had to ensure we were properly prepared and no ordinary beach toys would do.
We turned to Kido Products because their exciting and iconic designs engage young minds to think outside of the box. Kido beach toys also have a multi purpose, and can be used in the sand, water, and snow! Which I haven’t even mentioned to the kids yet, and I will be sure not to put these toys away in the Seasonal Summer box.
Playing in the sand was never so much fun for my family, friends, and I. All Summer long we were building sand castles with the Alto for Gia and forts for JD in minutes, using both our hands and feet with the Scoopi to move and lift the sand with complete ease and comfort. The Triplet helped us dig holes, while Gia used it as a funnel while still in the water.

With endless possibilities of family playtime fun, for seasons to come, you will be happy to know the Kido products can easily be wiped clean with a Lysol wipe and stacked and stored. The Alto clicks and stacks and the other toys can easily fit into the center standing up just as neatly.
Do you have any Kido toys? Have you used them during other seasons?

I love the Trunki’s backpacks and am considering getting one for my nephew’s birthday coming soon! What better way than to pack all the things to have fun on the beach for the day! I have always lived on or near the beach and love those sand castle forts! I want to have one to make a sand castle today!

My daughter would love this. I call her the bag lady and she has to have the best and most unique bags out there. I need one of these for me as an adult it needs to come with a drink mix too lol

Trunkie is a fantastic idea! I can’t tell you how handy this would have been when my kids were younger. I could have divvied up supplies for each of them, and had them carry some of it, rather than my husband and I wrestling with EVERYTHING.

You guys had a blast at the beach! My kids would love the Trunki backpacks. As for the toys, they love to bring all their beach toys whenever we were headed to the beach. We haven’t tried Kido toys, yet, but I will look for them next time.

What a cool idea, I love beach days, I live on Lake Michigan so we spend a lot of time at the beach, especially when we were growing up. It’s a great idea to give your kids that responsibility of packing their bags and learning how to make sure they have everything they need! Preparedness is a skill you can never learn too early

Wow there are so many things that you need to pack. Good thing you have some kind of a checklist so you won’t forget to bring every item. At what age do you think should kids be responsible of their own bags and pack their belongings? Parents should guide them and constantly remind them to check as well so you can all spend a hassle-free and fun time while on the beach.

I don’t know how close you are to the beach but I think it’s great that you take your kids so often. I didn’t go to the beach for the first time until we moved to the coast at age 8. I remember being in awe and later feeling like I missed out a little not going more when I was younger. Go outside and have fun in the sun!!

Looks like an awesome day at the beach! This is a great list, I think children’s sunglasses are often overlooked so I am so happy to see them included in your list! Thanks for sharing 🙂

We live in Florida so we are so lucky to have frequent beach days. I haven’t seen these toys before, but all of your tips are spot on! I try to have a cooler with fresh fruit, water, and juice. My son likes to splash in the water but he won’t go in! We usually hang out on the sand and snack!
